Watercolour Artist
Biography

After a fulfilling career as architect
and landscape architect Andrew's love
of art decided him to devote his time
fully to painting. Watercolour was his
chosen medium and his aim was to
develop a style which moved away
from an 'architectural' rendering in
favour of a loose, expressive
technique which would result in fresh
and lively paintings overlaid onto a
more considered composition.

Andrew's painting is concerned with
creating a dynamic balance between
factual elements of the subject and
the free-flowing spontaneous
rendering full of light and atmosphere.
He believes that watercolour does not
have to be 'wishy washy' but is an
ideal medium for creating subtle and
unified compositions having a full range
of tone, colour and texture.

He divides his time between painting
London, Hampton Court area and the
landscape of his home town of Rye
East Sussex.
